The 2010 issue of Archivium Hibernicum, the journal of the Catholic Historical Society of Ireland will be available from September. Volume LXIII (Pp 379) contains the calendar of seventeenth- and eighteenth-century documents in the archives of the Irish College, Rome. The illustration features an eighteenth century engraving of an Irish college student. The catalogue was prepared by Vera Orschel. Other items in the issue include a selection of seventeenth-century Irish recusancy documents, edited by Maighréad Ní Mhurchadha, a list of superior of the Irish college, Toulouse by Patrick Ferté, some correspondence of the lexicographer Thomas O’Connelly OP held in the Archivo General de Simancas (edited by Ted Bergman), a memoir of Peter Begley OFM on observance in the Irish province (1928-34) edited by Ignatius Fennessy OFM and Cadoc Leighton’s ‘John Milner, History and Ultramontanism’.
