Heritage Malta together with The Metropolitan Chapter, the University of Malta, the Vatican’s Congregazione per la Dottrina della Fede and the Malta Study Centre will be organising a three-day conference on The Roman Inquisition in Malta and Elsewhere between the 18th and the 20th of September, 2014

Twenty-eight academics from local and international spheres have confirmed their participation to discuss the Roman Inquisition. Keynote speakers include Mgr Alejandro  Cifres Gimenez, Director of the Inquisition Archives at the Vatican and renowned expert Professor Andrea del Col. Papers will be in English or Italian.

This will be accompanied by a temporary exhibition on the Inquisition in Malta which will run till 11 January 2015. Amongst other artefacts this exhibition will include authentic documents from the Vatican Archives, the Cathedral Archives, and the National Library.

Both conference and exhibition will be hosted at the Inquisitor’s Palace, Vittoriosa, which will be re-opening the upper floor after an intense restoration programme. For further information and a full programme please visit the conference website http://inquisitionconf2014.com/ .
Participation fee is €150 for adults and €75 for proven students, and it includes an inaugural reception (17 September), conference tea/coffee breaks, and lunches and programmed cultura visits.
