‘Ireland 2030’ has been organized jointly by two committees of the Royal Irish Academy, the Ethical, Political, Legal, and Philosophical Studies Committee and Coiste Léann na Gaeilge, Litríocht na Gaeilge agus na gCultúr Ceilteach.
On each of the four Wednesdays of this month, from 9:30 to 13:00, a panel of scholars and engaged citizen-experts will discuss a topic central to the future of this island. There will be particular emphasis on the question of how human agency can be strengthened in a situation where technological progress and environmental degradation have accelerated to such a point that policy-making and critical reflection are hardly able to keep up.
The seminars will take place online, and places can be booked through the website of the Royal Irish Academy. All are welcome: colleagues, students, and interested citizens.
Attached please find a detailed flyer for the first panel, which will take place on Wednesday, May 4th 2022.
